CANtutor AI is a live, 1-on-1 AI tutor that works on their assignment, their rubric, their deadline. Here is what it does, and what we will not pretend it does.

Supervision
An honest answer about visibility
Some products give parents a login and a feed of their child’s conversations. We do not.
There is no private channel
Sessions run out loud, on a screen, in whatever room the laptop is in. No hidden mode, no vanishing history.
Sit down and use it yourself
One account, and it is theirs. Sign in with them and run a session.
What we will not pretend
No parent login. No live feed. No alerts inbox. Some products sell that. We do not have it.
Privacy
What happens to their schoolwork
Where their schoolwork goes
What they type, the files they upload, and in a voice session their speech, go to the AI services that produce the answer. That is the whole of it.
What we do not do with it
No ads. No ad profiling. No sale of personal information. Live voice sessions are not recorded — the transcript is text only.
Nothing sensitive belongs in a lesson
Health records, banking details and government ID numbers are not needed for tutoring. Say that to your student — it applies to every AI tool they use.
Ask for it. Or have it deleted.
Email privacy@cantutor.ca to see what is held, or to have it erased. Deletion takes effect within 30 days.
The full detail is in the privacy policy. Before any AI feature runs, your student must consent to their schoolwork being processed by AI. Declining keeps the account and switches the AI off.
Academic integrity
The question you are really asking
Does it teach, or does it do the work for them? Judge it on the default behaviour, not on a policy nobody reads.
It teaches before it tells
Every session opens in a teaching mode: concepts first, questions back, the answer as a last resort.
Marking is sealed off
No setting your student can change makes the grader more generous. An automated test enforces that.
We say what the tool can do
There is a mode that writes out a full solution. It is clearly labelled. Hiding it would teach your student something worse than the assignment.
There is a whole category of AI product sold for getting through assessments undetected. We are the opposite of that on purpose, and we say so by name on our comparison page.
Age requirements
Who is allowed an account
Our Terms of Use require an account holder to be at least 13 years old. If your student is under the age of majority where you live, they may use the service only with the involvement of a parent, guardian or school. One kind of account, and it belongs to the person studying.
If a younger child has created an account, email privacy@cantutor.ca and we will review it and delete the information.

Compared with a human tutor
These are not the same purchase
We run a human tutoring business. Software does not replace a good tutor. We would know.
A human tutor
Notices what your student would never say out loud. Holds them accountable. Tells you what they see. Scheduled, hourly, worth it. Ours are at CANtutor.ca.
CANtutor AI
Covers the hours a tutor cannot. Sunday night before it is due. Question three at 11pm. The morning of the test. Every subject at once, for well under a single hour of tutoring a month.
Use both. The tutor sets the direction; this covers the nights in between.
