Being stuck is not a one-shot problem
The moment that matters is after you read the summary and still cannot do question three. Nobody is on the other end of a generator.
It works on the lecture, not on you
Notes are made about the document, not about you. A live session finds out which of you it is talking to in about two minutes.
It cannot watch you try
The only proof you learned something is doing the next one unaided. That needs something to set a problem, watch you try, and say where it broke.

What it is good at. The trusted incumbent, deservedly. A huge free library, real Socratic tutoring, a safety design parents trust. If it covers what you need, use it. We mean that.

Khanmigo is built around Khan Academy's own library. It does not open the assignment PDF your professor posted, or the rubric stapled to it.
A topic is not this week's assignment
Their library is organised by topic. The further into a degree you go, the more your trouble is this lab write-up, this rubric, this proof.
Your deadlines, not a course map
Sync Google Classroom or a calendar feed and your real due dates drive what you see. Study plans build backwards from your exam date.
Their trust bar is the one to clear
Their parent-visible, safety-first design is a real advantage. Where we do not yet match it, our pages say so.

Invisible answer overlays
What it is good at. They are honest about what they sell. An undetectable overlay that feeds you answers mid-exam removes every ounce of friction. That is why people use it.
They make you look capable for an hour. That is the opposite of the job.
The product is the concealment
The core feature is that nobody can tell. Strip that away and nothing is left.
We ship the capability and label it
There is a mode here that writes a complete worked solution. It is labelled, and you switch it on deliberately.
It cannot touch your grade
No setting in the tutor changes how the grader marks your work. A test fails our build if grading code ever reads the tutoring mode.
The exam is still coming
An overlay is a loan against a test you still have to sit. In the room where you cannot open a laptop, only having learned it helps.

Your school blocks third-party apps
Classroom sync needs a personal Google account, or a school account where the district allows them. Plenty do not. You can still upload your material, but check with your school first if sync was the point.
You want it to write the essay
It will plan one with you, tell you what the rubric is really asking, and tear apart a draft you wrote. If you want finished work to hand in, we are the wrong tool.
