Credits and billing
One pool of credits covers everything, rather than a separate allowance per feature. This page explains the mechanism. For the numbers themselves (your balance, your reset date and what each plan includes), the Credits page in the app reads them from your own account, and the pricing section on the homepage lists the plans.
Open Credits to see where you stand
The count in the sidebar footer, beside your name, opens it; it is also listed under Settings & account. It is always current. It is the page that answers how much you have left right now, so it is never a cached number.
Know what spends them
Anything that calls the AI: minutes of live tutoring, generated quizzes, flashcard decks, explainer lessons, grading runs and game questions. Reading pages you already have (Progress, Grades, Sessions, Chat and saved work) costs nothing.
Watch for the reset
Credits refresh on a cycle rather than accumulating forever. The Credits page shows your next reset date.
Change or cancel from Billing
Open Billing to change plans or manage your subscription. Cancellation opens the secure billing portal. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not delete your account or your saved work.
Live tutoring is the expensive one
Voice minutes cost more than text-based tools, which is worth knowing when you are budgeting a week. If you are running low, quizzes and flashcards go much further than session time.
Running out is not the end of the account
Metered features stop until the reset, but your work, history and read-only pages stay exactly where they are.
Common questions
How much does each thing cost in credits?
AI usage varies with your request and the work performed. When a reliable server estimate is available, it is labelled before you start. The Credits page shows pending requests, actual settled usage and any unused held credits returned.
Do unused credits roll over?
They refresh on a cycle rather than banking up indefinitely. Your Credits page shows the next reset date.
What happens if I cancel?
Cancelling stops future charges through Stripe. Your account and your saved work remain; once the period you paid for ends, the account pauses until you choose a plan again.
Do I need a card to start?
Yes. The trial is a 24-hour free trial of Max (fair use limits apply). Card required; $29.99/month after unless you cancel. You are not charged until it ends, and cancelling before then takes one tap.
