Assignments and Classwork
Two nearby pages that do different jobs. Assignments is your own list of what is due. Classwork is a live mirror of Google Classroom, which means it can only ever show you what your school has actually published there.
Open Assignments to see what's due
In the School section. Assignments carry a title, a course and a due date, and they are what the AI Grader offers you when it asks which assignment a draft belongs to.
Connect Google Classroom to fill it automatically
If your school uses Classroom, connecting it brings assignments, due dates, attachments and rubrics across without you typing them. See the Google Classroom guide.
Use Classwork for the live view
Classwork mirrors Classroom — coursework, discussions, grades, and a past work tab. Because it is a mirror, it needs a connection: offline it can only show the last sync.
Find your saved work under Past
The past work tab in Classwork is also where whiteboards you saved during a session end up.
Common questions
Do I have to use Google Classroom?
No. Assignments works on its own, and every study tool in the app works without any integration at all. Classroom just removes the typing.
Does anything I do here go back to my teacher?
No. The sync is one-way — it reads your coursework in. Nothing is submitted or written back to Classroom.
Why is Classwork empty?
Either Classroom is not connected yet, or it is connected to a Google account that is not the one your school uses. Check Integrations in the Account section.
