Where does the library end?
Khanmigo teaches Khan Academy's curriculum. That is a strength when your course is a standard one and a limit when it is not. It does not open your syllabus, your professor's rubric or the assignment due on Thursday, so its help is about the topic in general rather than about the document you will be marked on.
The second edge is level. A curriculum library is built around standard courses. A third-year engineering student working a problem set in a specific professor's notation, or an essay marked against a departmental rubric, is outside what any curriculum library is for. That is where course-specific tutoring lives.
What should a Khanmigo alternative be able to do?
Three things, and you can test each one in a trial.
- Read your material. Upload the brief, the rubric, the problem set or the lecture slides, and have the tutor work from them rather than from a generic version of the topic.
