Study Packs
A Study Pack is built from a page you're already reading, not a topic you type in — it is the one study tool that starts in the browser extension rather than in the app. The pack has three parts, presented in one scroll in the order you'd actually use them: notes first, then a flashcard deck, then a quiz with the working shown.
Install the CANtutor Chrome extension
Study Packs only exist there — the install steps are on the extension page at /extension. It is not on the Chrome Web Store, so installing it takes a few extra clicks the first time.
Highlight what you're studying
Select text on the page — a Canvas reading, a Khan Academy article, a Google Doc — then open the extension's side panel. It needs at least 200 characters selected; shorter than that and there isn't enough to build three parts from.
Press Make a Study Pack
The button sits in the side panel next to the ordinary chat box. It takes a little longer than an ordinary answer, since it is three model calls, not one.
Read the notes, then drill the cards, then sit the quiz
The three parts are meant to be used in order in one sitting. The quiz is shown as an answer key — every choice appears with the right one marked and the reasoning underneath — so it is something to read and check yourself against, not a timed sitting with a hidden score.
Find it again from Study Packs in the sidebar
Every pack you build is saved automatically and listed under Study Packs, in the Study section — the same place whether you built it on a school laptop or your own.
A pack can come back with a part missing
The notes, the deck and the quiz are three independent attempts, and one can fail without discarding the other two. If a part didn't come through, the pack says so — both right after you build it and again later when you reopen it from history — rather than leaving you guessing whether it's still loading.
Common questions
Can I build a Study Pack from inside the app, without the extension?
No — there is no in-app generator for it. A pack is built from the page you're actually reading, which only the extension can see, so getting that same source into a form on this site would mean retyping or pasting the whole thing yourself.
Is the quiz scored, like Practice Quizzes?
No. A Study Pack's quiz is presented as a worked answer key rather than something you sit and get marked on — see Practice Quizzes if you want a set that hides the answers until you're done.
Does building a Study Pack cost more than an ordinary question?
It's metered the same way as everything else that calls the AI — see Credits and billing for what spends a credit and where to check your balance. There's no separate paywall on the feature itself.
